Hair transplant for women

About 70% of women encounter a problem of hair loss during their lifetime

Alopecia is more often diffused among women.

It can be distinguished by thin and sparse hair across the scalp, instead of being localised on precised zones (forehead, tonsure) as it is the case with androgenetical alopecia.

It is not hereditary and can occur at any moment in one's life, as it is more often linked to external factors like stress, overwork, the intake of certain medication or drugs, pollution, etc…

But more and more women are now suffering from the androgenetical alopecia

The androgenetical loss of hair is easy to spot : contrary to loss due to some deficiency, the hair are sparse only of the top of the head, while the nape of the neck and the temples are dense and well covered with hair.

The androgenetical loss of hair among women has been noticed some 20 years ago and since then, it has been affecting an ever growing number of women. Some scientists speak of a transformation of alopecia among women. It accounts for 35% of hair loss among women.

It is known as androgenetical since it follows from an hereditary predisposition. Thus, most of the women suffering from hairloss, have either their father or a grandfather who must have faced this problem as well, but this does not mean that all those suffering from an androgenetical alopecia will have children who will be predisposed to this.

In order to identify whether the hairloss is due to some deficiency or is androgenetical, we undertake a capillary diagnostic prior to each operation.
